Can't believe it's been so long since we've posted. We've been having trouble with our electricity cutting out so the computer shuts down -not good. Missing Dad and GordonIII in the States. I'm staying up too late watching movies because I like to be really tired when I go to sleep so I sleep well. Watched "O Brother Where Art Thou?" (a bit silly, but funny and a funny portrayal of especially southern politicians and preachers. I enjoyed it) and Mr.Holland's Opus (such a nice story). Laura and Eric are still asleep but I'll wake them up just now as they go in for the second session of exams. Eric writes Afrikaans and Laura writes HSS (I think). Then this afternoon I take Eric to have his eyes tested and pay for booking his learner's licence test. He only writes the test on 11Jan - lst available date. I went to scrapbooking with Heather Brown on Sat. afternoon. I'm really enjoying that. Eric went along and spent time with Duncan. Then he stayed and he, Duncan, and Lauren went to see "The Village". He thought it was a great movie, but I'll let him write about it.

Love to all who read this.

From Meemer,

I've been trying to post an entry but not having much luck. First of all, I couldn't figure out how to post an entry (forgot that I needed to first sign in and then "New Weblog Entry" appears ).Then the computer keeps disconnecting or shutting down. So hopefully I'll get this message sent before that happens again. We've been having computer problems - Dad's power supply for his lap top isn't working so he hasn't been able to do anything on that and there isn't enough battery power to download anything. Dad did get our home computer set up so we can now receive our emails (easily) here. What did we ever do before computers? We've also been experiencing some electrical problems at home where our electricity keeps cutting on and off. We had an electrician check it out and he did replace our trip switch, but it is still happeninng. I phoned the municipality power yesterday and they think it is tree branches hitting the powerlines. They gave me a new number to phone ....... but nobody answers the phone. So we aren't hopeful the problem will be solved in the near future.

We've all been doing fairly well. Jessica has been home sick a couple days this week - sinus problems. Eric and I have been struggling with coughs - all allergy related I'm sure with the change of seasons.

We had a nice tea for Dad last Sat to celebrate his doctorate. There were probably 30+ people here. We were a bit disappointed that no one came from Midrand, but we realize it is a longway. I made LOTS of food - angel food cake, milk tarts, peach tart, brownie cake, crumb cake, cheese scones, quiche, sausage rolls, chocolate chip cookies, etc. We had quite a lot left but the DOJ leaders had a cake sale on Sun morning so I sent some in then. We have been enjoying all the sweet things. Dad was given a box of Ferror Roche chocolates (my favourite) so we've been eating those to, not that they are good for me to eat!

Last night we went to the house plays at Trinity. Shelby Cox and Fish (Robert Visser) were in them and they did a good job. All the plays were very well done and quite entertaining. I took Laura, Eric and Kerri and then stayed myself. We sat with the Coxes so had a nice time.

I guess postings are supposed to be quite short so I'll write more later. I've been working on Laura's dress for the Chapel Ball on the30th of Oct, so I'd better get back to that. Eric's band is playing a few songs and I think they are also trying to get Grounded. Eric isn't happy that it is on his birthday.

Love to all who read this entry. Can you tell I'm having fun with the "Smileys"?

hello all

this is eric if anyone actually cares to read this and agnolage our meaningless existance. this week was supposed to be back to school but i have been sick so i only went to school on tuesday. i had a good holiday which involved lots of skateboarding, a band practice, sleeping on the grass at Rand Afrikaans University aka RAU with my friend Chris Cox and other such shinanagins (bad spelling is my curse). i'm starting to feel better but i have a lot of work to catch up. i would also like to announce that i eric gregory am the newest enrolled student at INTERNATIONAL COLLEDGE OF BIBLE AND MISSIONS!! i'm doing one course a term and this term i'm doing apologetics. all is well in the gregory camp. a point to ponder:

if toast always lands with the butter side down and a cat always lands on it's feet, then if you tied a slice of buttered toast to a cats back would it hover?

Hi All, Well the Gregory family are finally posting something. Just wanted to let you know that I have just picked up my cap, gown, and hood and have submitted the final copies of my dissertation. Now all that's left is to get my diploma on Sept. 28. The dissertation looks quite impressive in its bound form and it's also quite heavy!

Look forward to any replies.

Gordon, the Dad
